Online group discussions, which are conducted asynchronously and not face-to-face, can eliminate time and spatial constraints and reduce the costs of collecting and exchanging knowledge. Meanwhile, important elements of online group discussions are the ability to visualize discussions and to stimulate discussion. In this paper, we clarify the influence of the difference in the visualization method on the discussion in asynchronous and non-face-to-face group discussions. Furthermore, we clarify whether the evaluation of discussion scores promotes changes in participants' behavior. Experiments were conducted using three systems: a chat display system, a graphical display system, and a graphical display system with a score evaluation function. The results of the experiment showed that the graph method was more effective than the chat method in visualizing the discussion, with more comments being made after a certain period of time and comments being made on different discussion streams. It was suggested that the graph method may support the generation of superior ideas by providing an overall view of the discussion.
