Today, over 900 extant sangaku survive, mostly in their original location; an additional 1700 sangaku problems are documented in books and manuscripts. The Sangaku Archive Project is an attempt to create a central archive for this cultural heritage, to allow for a systematic examination of sangaku as a social phenomenon – and new forms of dissemination amongst a modern audience.},
