This has included initiatives such as the Federal Government and states' collaboration on public IT systems, and the enactment of the E-Government Act to promote a transparent administration using the internet, thereby advancing the digitalization of public administration and E-Government. However, Germany faces numerous challenges in the actual digitalization of its administration, including issues unique to federalism, as well as the promotion of open data and the risks associated with data processing.
