Since it requires a lot of computational time, improvement in execution time is seriously needed. The purpose of this paper is to accelarate HMMer using metacomputing environment. This paper proposes a scheduling algorithmthat manages some unpredictable characteristicsdegrading execution efficiency in the metacomputing environment and implements a parallelized version of HMMer. Experiments are performed in a simulated Grid environment with three clusters and grid-enabled schedulers for each site.
