The system compares the pitch and frequency spectrum of the sound played by the user with that of a reference sound source, and provides feedback and advice on how to improve based on the difference. Previous wind instrument learning support systems used methods such as attaching sensors to the instrument itself or placing markers around the mouth and measuring them with a camera, but these methods had the problem of altering the normal playing sensation and tone quality of the performer.
