• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 大規模ネットワーク可視化の課題の1つに，ノードを点，エッジを直線で表現する基本的な手法で可視化すると，多数のエッジが乱雑に重なり合い，可視化結果を読み取ることが難しくなるという問題がある．配置の似ているエッジを束ねて曲線として描画することにより，エッジの重なり合いを低減させるエッジバンドリング（Edge bundling）は，大規模ネットワーク可視化における重要な手法の1つである．ここで，ズームやパンの操作により，一部の領域を拡大して描画する可視化インタフェースは，大規模ネットワーク可視化において有用である．拡大描画に関連し，描画された領域（focus）の周辺に対する位置付け（context）を提示することは重要とされている．そこで，本研究では，focus+contextを考慮したエッジバンドリング手法として，画面内のエッジの接続傾向と，画面内外にまたがるエッジの接続傾向を1つの画面で区別して提示する手法を提案する．提案手法を実データに適用して定量的に評価し，有効性を確認した．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: One of the challenges in large-scale network visualization is that when using a basic method that represents nodes as points and edges as straight lines, a large number of edges are cluttered and overlapped, making it difficult to read the visualization results. Edge bundling, which reduces the overlap of edges by bundling similarly arranged edges and drawing them as curves, is an important method for large-scale network visualization. A visualization interface that allows zooming and panning to enlarge a part of area is practical in large-scale network visualization. In relation to zooming, it is important to present the context of the focused drawn area in relation to its surroundings. In this study, as an edge bundling method that considers focus+context, we propose an edge bundling method that distinguishes and presents the connection trend of edges within a screen and the connection trend of edges linking inside and outside of a screen in a single picture. We applied the proposed method to real data and evaluated it quantitatively to confirm its effectiveness.
