R-CCS が開発している SCALE ライブラリーの高精度流体スキームのオプションとして,不連続ガラーキン法(DGM)を用いた大気力学コア SCALE-DG を開発している.DGM では, 空間離散化が局所的に行われるため,現代の計算機アーキテクチャにおいて高い計算性能が期待できる.本研究では,水平・鉛直陽解法(HEVE)スキームを用いた SCALE-DG プログラムの性能評価を行った.その結果,SCALE-DG は 384 プロセス(4608 コア)まで優れた並列化効率を示した一方で,単体性能では,体積分・面積分に関する要素ごとの微分計算,境界での数値流束評価,および数値フィルタの処理は主なボトルネックとなっていることが確認できた.また,性能ボトルネックである要素ごとの微分計算,境界での数値流束評価に対するチューニング手法を提案し,それぞれ simulations, a dynamical core using discontinuous Galerkin Method (DGM), called SCALE-DG, is being developed as an option of high-order fluid schemes in SCALE library developed by RIKEN R-CCS. Since the spatial discretization is done locally, we expect the computational performance is highly desirable in modern computer architectures. In this study, we evaluated the scalability and node-level performance of SCALE-DG program with horizontal explicit and vertical explicit (HEVE) scheme. The results show that the program performed excellently in strong and weak scaling up to 384 processes (4608 cores). In node-level performance, the part of calculating volume and surface integration, dealing with boundary flux evaluation and the numerical filter are confirmed as main bottlenecks.
