Among multiple redundant firewalls, it is necessary to synchronize configurations such as security policy and NAT/NAPT policy. In this paper, we propose a method to synchronize firewall configurations of security policy and its automation. We then consider to configure the backup firewall in order to synchronize its security policy with one of main firewall. We here regard security policy as a symbol, and treat the entire security policy as a sequence of symbols. We then attribute the synchronization problem to an SES (Shortest Edit Script) problem, and try to solve it.
