NMF アルゴリズムを用いた手法と,Driedger らの手法を改良した手法,CNMF を用いた手法や,CNMF に対して制約を加えたモデルなどさまざまな検討を重ねてきた.加えて,われわれはオーディオモザイキングの性能評価のため,再現性と楽器性の 2 つの指標を定義した.再現性は目的音をどれだけ再現できているかの評価で,楽器性は要素音らしさをどれだけ知覚できるかの評価である.これまで再現性に関する物理評価は存在したものの,楽器性の物理評価はなかった.そこで,主観実験に基づいて連続音の分離度を求め,これを用いた楽器性の物理評価を定義し,楽器性の物理評価値と主観実験評価値との整合性を調べた.その結果楽器性の物理評価値と主観実験評価値との間に正の相関関係がみられた.また,再現性についても既存の音質評価手法である STOI
