Emotional tears have been studied from various perspectives such as psychology, cognitive science, physiology, and brain science. Recently, popular narrative works are sometimes evaluated as \"crying\" in the sense that they prompt users to shed tears. In recent years, attempts have been made to investigate the characteristics of various genres of narrative works by conducting cross-sectional structural analysis. In addition, there are several examples of structural analysis focusing on stories evaluated as \"crying,\" rather than genres. However, there are no examples of studies of the relationship between tear-prompting scenes and other scenes in narrative works that are rated as \"crying\" by users. Therefore, in this study, other scenes that describe elements of scenes that are thought to tear-prompting scenes were focused on, and categories were created for the contents of the scenes described. In addition, the relationship between the content of the description of tear-prompting scenes and the narrative function was extracted.
