Traditional gamification research has predominantly focused on human-centric design, primarily examining gamification from the perspective of enhancing player motivation. However, it has become evident that solely relying on human-centered design is insufficient for the practical implementation of this study, given the dependencies on the specific gamification services, their stakeholders, and various artifacts and environments. In this study, a hybrid approach drawing from the actor-network theory is employed to explicitly consider the human and non-human networks that play a role in these services. The aim is to conceptualize services as hybrids and develop a design methodology grounded in the affordances of the hybrids.
