Image processing optimized for coding at a later stage is called “coding-oriented image processing.” In this talk, we will introduce some of the coding-oriented image processing that the authors have previously performed. Specifically, a method for creating (coding-oriented) low frame rate video sequences by focusing on high frame rate video, a method for creating (coding-oriented) images by focusing on rigid bodies in video to improve coding efficiency, and a method for creating (coding-oriented) images by focusing on underwater video seen through shimmering water to code them, A method to create a (coding-oriented) image focusing on a texture image in a new coding standard (V-PCC) that reduces dynamic point cloud data to depth and texture images, and a method to improve coding efficiency. These are studies on how to reduce noise that degrades coding efficiency.
