Gilbertが編集・校訂したThe History of the Irish Confederationは，17世紀アイルランド史上，最重要史料の一つと見なされてきた．しかし，近年の手稿文書研究はGilbert版の不完全さを指摘するようになってきた．本研究は，Gilbertが編纂した手稿文書を，Transkribusを用いて翻刻した上で，TEIにより構造化し，複数の版を比較することでGilbert版との異同分析を行う．本研究の分析によって，Transkribusが提供するモデルの17世紀英語史料への有用性と翻刻内容へのタグ付けの容易さ，翻刻史料のxml形式出力の容易さが示される．加えて，その異同分析で近代の校訂テクストでは欠落していた点を指摘した上で，異同分析結果の17世紀アイルランド史研究上における重要性にも言及する．

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: In the late 19th century, J.T. Gilbert edited and annotated The History of the Irish Confederation, which has been considered one of the most crucial historical sources in seventeenth-century Irish history. However, recent manuscript studies have highlighted the imperfections in Gilbert's edition. This study, therefore, will transcribe the manuscript materials compiled by Gilbert using Transkribus, structuring them with TEI, and conducting a comparative analysis with the Gilbert edition to identify discrepancies. My analysis demonstrates the utility of Transkribus models for seventeenth-century English historical materials, the ease of tagging in transcription, and the straightforward xml format output for transcribed materials. Furthermore, this analysis points out elements missing in modern critical texts and discusses the significance of the results of this comparative analysis in the context of seventeenth-century Irish history research.
