Smartphone addiction has become a serious social concern, especially amongyounger generations, as ownership of smartphones has grown rapidly. Sinceover-use of smartphone can be detrimental to health, it is crucial tocomprehend the behavioral characteristics of addiction. Therefore, the aim ofthis study is to investigate the statistical characteristics of smartphone usagepatterns, such as app continuous use time, screen touch interval, screen timeduration, and number of screen-on per day. The analysis was based on data fromthe smartphone sensor log of outpatients who attended mental health hospitalsfor Internet addiction, which was the first long-term follow-up study in thisresearch area. |
