With this trend, accidents caused by smartphone walking have been increased. However, banning smartphone walking would compromise the convenience of smartphones. Considering situations where smartphone walking cannot be forbidden, we have to discuss to reduce the risks of smartphone walking while accepting smartphone walking. During smartphone walking, users’ field of view is typically narrowed compared to normal walking. This rises a potential risk of accidents, such as collisions with people and/or obstacle. In this paper, we proposes the method that monitors the angle of a smartphone and guiding users towards expanding their field of view.
