In many cases, digital forensic investigations are contracted by specialized investigation companies. Current estimates are rough and not cost-effective due to the poor prospects of investigations. In this paper, by defining the residual risk curve using the growth curve for the transition of the investigation and calculating the optimal number of man-hours, a new partial implementation zone appears. As a result, we will be able to obtain cost-effective digital forensic investigations.
