Traditional pitch notation and encoding systems have been limited to representations that merely replace note names, scale names, and octaves with symbols or numbers, which might not be always convenient ones from the view point of quantitative evaluation. In this presentation, we discuss the quantitative representation of pitch through comparisons between different pitch notations and numeral systems, then propose a 12-based positional pitch notation system that has a value in the same way as positional numeral systems. As the subject of discussion, we explore the acoustic psychological models of pitch and concepts and operations in musical theory, considering the effectiveness and potential on representation of the proposed system.}, title = {十二進位取りピッチ表記法の提案}, year = {2023} }
