The purpose of this study was to clarify the optimum conditions for energizing a functional electrical stimulator using an Arduino in hemiplegic stroke patients. The subjects were 11 healthy subjects and 10 hemiplegics. Frequency responsiveness was compared using the maximum dorsiflexion angle of the wrist joint, pain, and versatility index as outcomes. The results showed that the dorsiflexion angle was lower in the 35-Hz condition, and pain was higher in the 120-Hz condition. In addition, fewer hemiplegics had a maximum versatility index in the 35-Hz condition. The results showed different responsiveness to frequency. The results suggest that it is important to set an appropriate frequency for hemiplegic stroke survivors considering the degree of disuse of the paralyzed limb.},
