project-specific software evolution is essential for managing various software development projects. An exploratory approach to open source software (OSS) repository analysis using time-delayed correlation analysis (DCA), an extension of correlation analysis that considers a time delay between any pair of metrics, is reported previously. In this paper, we propose heuristic-based filtering using the coefficients of DCA and visualization of time-series metric values with the most explainable periods for effective and efficient inspection of DCA result. In addition, we conduct case studies using an OSS repository and an industrial embedded product software repository.
