Non-invasive heart rate measurement using wireless sensors, such as Doppler sensors, has been a promising technique to detect heart-related movements and estimate heart rate. However, conventional methods require precise chest placement relative to the sensor, limiting their usability in real-life situations. In this report, we propose a solution to this challenge by incorporating a Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) device to identify the relative chest angle and distance of the subject along with a MIMO Doppler Radar that adjusts its beams towards the identified direction for improved heart rate detection. Through experiments, we demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach in detecting the direction, distance, and heartbeat of the subject. Our method offers a more practical solution to non- invasive heart rate measurement, making it more applicable in real-world situations where precise chest placement is challenging. |
