MPI 並列プログラムの通信に関する性能を評価する．一部の通信量の多い並列 MPI アプリケーションでは，プロセス間での浮動小数点データの交換に多くの実行時間がかかる．そこで，データ圧縮により，転送する必要のある浮動小数点データのビット数を減らすことができる．ただし，圧縮による実行時のオーバーヘッドは，MPI 通信の性能の低下につながる可能性がある．まず，本報告では，高い圧縮率と短い通信遅延を両立するために，MPI 通信環境に合わせて新しい非可逆圧縮アルゴリズムを提案する．送信元は，前のデータとの関係を示す情報により，浮動小数点データを表現する．そして，受信側は，規定された誤差を許容することにより高速にデータを復元する．次に，本報告では，与えられたMPI 並列アプリケーションに対して，非可逆圧縮を用いることで MPI 通信時間を最適化する．その結果，HPL アプリケーションの性能を最大約 17%
