In order to implement the strategy, a TA support system for programming exercises is developed. We define the learning support strategy as the strategy in which TA focuses on supporting the students during class. Based on the results of categorizing previous research on systems to support programming exercises, we propose three types of learning support strategies: high hope, high motivation, and low understanding. From a questionnaire survey on motivation of the students and demands of learning support, it is confirmed that the types of students to whom TA should focus on are different depending on the type of learning support strategy. In addition, a system is implemented that displays the students to be approached on the seating chart. The TA has a tablet computer during class to check the seating chart and view the learning status of the students to be approached. TA support system is introduced to the programming exercise and practiced each of the learning support strategies. From the experimental results, we evaluate the strategies used in the actual lessons and the effectiveness of the system.
