It causes clients to feel some terrible feelings, and the smoothness of the dialogue is hindered. In this study, we empirically analyze the aspect of voice overlap in online therapy and obtain some suggestions for improvement. We recorded some videos of clinical psychological mock therapies and analyzed those with ELAN, a video annotation tool. The result shows a voice delay in the online therapy, which causes a gap between the speaker's utterance timing and the timing at which the voice reaches the other party. The voice delay also causes both overlaps and partial loss of those voices. As a response to this phenomenon, the speakers are upset by confusion and surprise and become refrained and restrained from talking.
