It has implemented various measures to promote environmentally conscious behavior but faces problems regarding participation in and continuation of these activities in many parts of Japan. One reason for this is that offering citizens sufficient financial incentives to engage in environmentally friendly activities is challenging. Therefore, it is necessary to design a mechanism that does not rely on incentives. This study, therefore, designed an information system that encourages environmental consciousness through behavioral science. Additionally, it examines the usefulness of the design through online experiments.
