Literacy is necessary for a good education, a good job, and a high quality of life. Braille is a form of literacy for Visually Impaired Person (VIP). To increase the literacy for VIP, a braille self-study tool prototype is developed in this study. The self-study tool concept utilizes a smartphone application, and a flashcard contains real braille which designed based on beginner braille material. The application’s voice output allows VIP to learn braille by using drilling method.
