Smart lighting systems using infrared occupancy sensors and light sensors have been studied, but more power can be saved by using accurate location information. In this study, we propose a smart lighting system that can compensate for the estimated location error using Ultra-Wide Band (UWB) sensor location information, and show that it can reduce the power consumption by about 90 % compared to the existing infrared occupancy sensor system, and by about 27 % compared to the existing UWB system.
