2021 年 6 月 16 日，欧州委員会は，韓国に対する欧州一般データ保護規則（GDPR）上の十分性認定の手続を開始したと発表し，同時に，十分性決定の草案を公表した．同年 9 月 24 日には，欧州データ保護ボードが意見（Opinion 32/2021 regarding the European Commission Draft Implementing Decision pursuant to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the adequate protection of personal data in the Republic of Korea）を公表し，手続が進んでいる．本発表は，EIP93 における発表に続き，欧州委員会による韓国に対する十分性認定手続の現状を分析し，我が国個人情報保護政策への示唆を得るものである． |

On June 16, 2021, the European Commission announced that it had initiated the process of adequacy decision under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) for Korea, and at the same time published a draft of the decision. On September 24 of the same year, the European Data Protection Board published its opinion (Opinion 32/2021 regarding the European Commission Draft Implementing Decision pursuit to Regulation (EU) 2016/679 on the appropriate protection of personal data in the Republic of Korea) and the procedure is ongoing. This presentation analyzes the updated situation of the adequacy decision procedure by the European Commission for Korea following the presentation in EIP 93 and make recommendations to Japanese Personal Data Protection policy. |
