While this effect has been previously applied in the field of second language learning, the vocabulary that can be studied is limited by the number of actions that are performable in real spaces. However, since VR environments can be rendered with various backgrounds to create extended learning spaces, the number of performable actions by learners and subsequently the number of learnable vocabulary using enactment effect can be increased. In this paper, we implemented a VR application for eliciting enactment effect during English vocabulary learning and explored the effects of rendering a background on learning outcomes.
