As a basis for evaluating the skill, a requirement analysis skill model is proposed. The model  is developed by setting degrees of difficulty on each combination between specification patterns in needs statements and software requirements specifications (SRS). The model is validated by carrying out an experiments which makes subjects review a SRS in comparison with a corresponding needs statement. The result shows that there is a statistically significant difference in number of detected items among different difficulty group of SRS specification patterns.
