Thus, it is important to shorten the time to develop one game. It is creating ’stages,’ a set of data annotating what the person who plays the game must do, that takes a significant amount of time to create. This is especially the case for creating stages for a genre of games called ’rhythm games’ in which the player performs actions based on background music, since creating stages for such video games requires a deep understanding of musical grammar. Some studies focus on the past human-made stages and on the feature of the music and utilize machine learning methods to automate the process.
