 note = {国立環境研究所（NIES）では，幅広い分野の環境研究を学際的かつ総合的に進めている．1990年10月，地球環境研究の中核的機関を目指し，地球環境研究センター（CGER）が発足したが，当初からその構想には，「地球環境データベース」が含まれていた．それから30年あまりの間，「地球環境データベース」は時代に応じて形を変えながらもCGERのデータ基盤として発展してきた．本稿では，データを取り巻く状況が大きく変わる中で，地球環境データベースがどのように変遷してきたかについて振り返るとともに，研究データの公開・利活用促進に向けた現場の取り組み，技術の発展だけでは解決できない課題や将来展望について述べる．, The National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) undertakes a broad range of environmental research in an interdisciplinary and comprehensive manner. The Center for Global Environmental Research (CGER) has been founded with the goal of becoming the core center of the global environmental research field, of which the original concept included the “Global Environmental Database”. Since then, the “Global Environmental Database” has been evolving as the main data infrastructure of CGER in accordance with the changes in the times, for more than 3 decades. I start with reviewing the evolution of the “Global Environmental Database” in drastically changing circumstances surrounding data-driven culture, then I report our current activities and effort to promote open data, as well as remaining issues despite the progress of technologies, and finally I share a prospective view.},
