We obtained a high level of versatility by using the Lambda Architecture and the RESTful API with Web of Things, that enables both real-time control and batch processing for many use cases of smart buildings. We also proposed semantics applicable for smart buildings and incorporated them into the data modeling of the platform, lowering the barrier to entry for third parties and improving the reusability of applications.
