WHO identified the isolation of infected persons as one of the strategies that are required to stop the spreading of the virus. The isolation procedure involves reducing the direct contact between the patients and the medical staff. In this respect, robots are playing a crucial role in fighting against COVID-19. The robot's importance comes from its ability to provide multi-services while reducing direct contact between patients and medical staff to a minimum. A multi-purpose robot was built at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to provide the most basic functions that are required to communicate with isolated persons. The designed robot was equipped with three essential functions: food delivery, remote controlling/ communicating system, and thermal imaging. Results showed that the designed robot was efficiently remotely controlled to move and reach the isolated persons and delivering them their meals. Besides, the medical staff was able to communicate with the patient through real-time video and audio streaming. Furthermore, thermal imaging was used to diagnose the patients and any suspicious cases by measuring their temperature., On January 2020, World Health Organization (WHO) declared that COVID-19 (also known as the novel coronavirus) as a public health emergency that requires an international intervene to break the chain of spreading the virus.
