As a means of teaching at educational institutions including universities, we conducted short drills that describe basic logical structures in the form of an inverted argument diagram and found students frequently fail to treat the relationship between claims (conclusions) and grounds correctly. As the hypothesis from the analysis of the failure cases, we present that they are caused by confusion with causal relationship and discuss the way to improve the results.
