By designing a sparse filter with a redundant filter order, a higher-performance filter can be designed than the equivalent non-sparse filter with the same number of multipliers. In the design of sparse filters, we have to find the optimal selection of zero coefficients. In order to find the solution, a heavy computation is required. In this work, we employ the Least Angle Regression (LARS) algorithm to find the location of zero coefficients.
