It includes unexpectedness which means a gap between subjective expectation and objective fact from data. This paper emphasizes relation between two words and defines their subjective and objective similarities. The former is semantic similarity between two words. The latter is price transition similarity between two words (i.e., items) in customer price index. Then, a measure of unexpectedness between these words is defined as a distance between the similarities.
