• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: データベース・スキーマを理解していなくても操作できることは、データベースが広く一般に利用されるために必要不可欠である。自然言語によるデータベース操作は、この要求に応える一方法である。しかし、自然言語を形式的なデータ検索手続きに翻訳するには、実世界に関する知識をシステムが持たなければならない。本稿では、自然言語の翻訳に必要な実世界の意味構造に関する知識を表現するという視点から意味データモデルについて検討する。また、この検討に基づいて一つの意味データモデルを提案し、次に、この意味データモデルに基づいて自然言語の質問文を翻訳する処理について報告する。最後に、プロトタイプ・システムを通して評価する。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: It is convenient for every users to retrieve databases without knowledge of database schema. The natural language interface for database access is one of the most effective methods for this issue. However, the database system itself must manage various kinds of information between entities and their relationships in the real world in order to translate the natural language queries into the corresponding data retrieval procedures. This paper discusses the semantic data model from a viewpoint of the natural language interface issue. Also, through this study, we propose an experimental semantic data model and then report an interpretation method for natural language queries.
