• 論文抄録 / 内容記述: 経済社会のダウンサイジングの動向の中で情報処理システムにもダウンサイジングの要請が強くなっている。情報処理システムのダウンサイジングは，単なる計算機ハードウェアのコスト低減を意味するのではなく，分散処理環境，オープン化という新しい情報処理環境の実現を要請するものである。ダウンサイジングの情報処理システムにおける問題は，この新しい情報処理環境かりエンジニアリングする組織体の業務の在り方に見合うかということである。ダウンサイジングの動向の中で大型汎用計算機のデータベースシステムの持つ既存データ資産を生かしつつデータベース技術をどのように変革していく必要があるのかについて論じる。

• 論文抄録(英) / 内容記述: Tke trend of Downsizing in the economical society induces the Downsizing of Information System. The Downsizing of Information System means the new Information Processing Environment such as Distributed Environment, Open System. The important problem is how such a new Information Processing Environment meats the Reengineering Bussines Process. The sharing of information is key. The databasein the Mainframe has the important key bussiness data. This paper describes the going way of mainframe database in the current downsizing trend and also decribes further research items of database technology for the new Information Processing Environment.
