ユーザがプライバシーポリシーの内容を十分に理解して同意することは少ないと既存研究では指摘されている. 今後, ますますユーザがパーソナルデータを自分で管理する必要性が高くなるにあたり, プライバシーポリシーを読む際にユーザの理解を支援するツールが有効であると考えられる. ユーザがプライバシーポリシーを読む際の理解度及び表示形式に関して, 日本・アメリカ・ドイツにおいて Web アンケート調査を実施した. 調査結果の国別比較をすることにより, プライバシーポリシーを読む際の日本人ユーザの特徴を解析し, 日本人ユーザの好む表示形式を生かし, personal data, most service providers notify users of their privacy policies. However, most users do not read privacy policies as reported in previous studies. As the necessity for users to control personal data themselves increases, a user support tool to help people understand privacy policies will be helpful. We conducted a cross-cultural analysis to examine how users read and understand privacy policies in Japan, the United States, and Germany.
