A system capable to automatically recognize signatures and seals in calligraphies and paintings can assist professionals and enthusiasts in gaining a better understanding as to the background information on these collections in a more efficient way. In this research, our focus is placed on automatic identification of signatures and seals under the context of ukiyo-e painting.
