In the environment with database migration, it is necessary to develop a method to manage the location of each database for accessing migratory databases. In this paper, we first propose several database location management methods, some of which make use of the features of ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode) networks. Then, we compare the performance of the methods by simulation study under some system parameters, such as the frequency of query issues and database migration, and the scale of the network.
