While prior systems in CSCL primarily focus on topic shifts and turn-taking, they lack effective visualization of abstraction dynamics―how discussion becomes more general or specific over time. AbstNebula visualizes the knowledge convergence process by mapping the abstractness to radial distance and discussion time to angular position. In an evaluation involving six discussion groups, we compared the visualization with actual knowledge convergence processes. The results showed that concrete examination using examples was visualized as an increase in words located at the periphery, whereas abstraction reverting to early-stage opinions appeared as a reduction in the number of visualized words.
