Given that situation, the screen-camera communication is one method in which data are transmitted by capturing visual information displayed on such a smartphone. This approach has the advantage of being robust to radio interference by the visible light as the transmission medium, but it needs to typically require specialized devices. In this study, we focused on the screen-camera communication using a single QR code. Since QR codes are widely deployed and can be generated and decoded using standard smartphones, communication can be realized without specialized devices. We executed some experimentations in order to evaluate how QR code design parameters and display-side settings affect the communication performance and identify parameter settings suitable for practical deployment.
