As the size of these archives grows, it is difficult for humans to check the entire data, and it is important to construct a retrieval system that enables access to the necessary data. In this paper, we propose a cross-modal retrieval system for image-text pairs of historical materials using pre-trained models. We constructed a multimodal historical material dataset from the National Museum of Japanese History database and adapted the pre-trained models to it. The experimental results of retrieving show that fine-tuned CLIP models achieve the highest performance.
