While these videos are an accurate record of the dialogue, they take more time to view than the actual dialogue, so there is a need for a technique to efficiently determine the dialogue content. In previous dialogue-summarization studies, only the conveyance of the content was subject to evaluation. However, in understanding dialogue, not only the conclusion but also the flow of discussion leading to the conclusion, the atmosphere, and the impression of the dialogue are important. In this study, we proposed a novel video summarization technique that can convey the atmosphere of dialogues and verified its effectiveness. Through user studies, we confirmed that video summarization is more effective than text summarization in conveying the atmosphere of a dialogue.
