A 256-level grayscale image was reduced in size and converted to 64 levels. Each pixel's brightness value was then changed from decimal to a one-byte base-64 number. The sequence of base-64 characters can be used as a file name. Adding the “.html” extension to this file name creates an HTML template file. This method is called “File Title Notation.” In this paper, we explain how File Title Notation works and report an experiment where HTML template files were made from images of selected playing cards.
