Video Coding(VVC) が規格化された.VVCは高い圧縮効率を実現するために,多数の新たな符号化ツールを導入し,それらの組み合わせにより符号化モードの選択肢が飛躍的に増加している.この結果として,最適な符号化モードの選択には莫大な演算量が必要である.映像符号化モードの決定に,イジングマシンを用いた代表的なイントラ予測モード選択手法の定式化が提案されている.本報告では限定的だったイントラ予測モードをVVCに準拠し,これまで明らかにされていないVVCにおけるイジングマシンを用いたイントラ予測モード選択手法での符号化効率を評価する.リファレンスソフトウェアとの符号化効率を比較した結果,本手法は最適な符号化モードを選択し,最大で1.71%,平均で約0.53%符号化効率が向上することが分かった.","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_4_description_8":{"attribute_name":"論文抄録(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_description":"The proliferation of video streaming services has led to a significant increase in video traffic, presenting a major challenge for efficient data transmission. To address this issue, H.266/Versatile Video Coding (VVC) was standardized in 2020 as a new video coding standard. VVC introduces various novel coding tools to achieve high compression efficiency, which has greatly expanded the number of possible coding mode combinations. As a result, selecting the optimal coding mode requires an enormous amount of computation. To address this challenge, the utilization of Ising machines for the purpose of selecting intra prediction mode has been proposed as a method to enhance the efficiency of video coding. However, the effectiveness of these methodologies remains to be thoroughly investigated, with only preliminary evaluations conducted for a selected subset of intra-prediction modes. This paper evaluates the coding efficiency of intra prediction mode selection using an Ising machine.
