study examines a system that utilizes AI-based image Analysis technology―an area that has seen rapid advancements in recent years―to analyze handwritten lab notebooks documenting experimental conditions and results in an organic synthesis chemistry laboratory. In the field of learning support systems, increasing attention has been given to the automatic analysis of handwritten notes; however, there is a growing need to explore such technologies in highly specialized academic research settings. In the domain of organic synthesis chemistry, where experimental conditions are often diverse and complex, many studies have focused on AI-driven extrapolative prediction to generate useful experimental conditions. In this study, lab notebooks containing previously published experimental data were analyzed using multiple AI-based image Analysis techniques.
