In Japan, some research institutions have issued guidelines on the use of generative AI, but there is no unified approach in Japan. On the other hand, in the EU, the European Commission issued guidelines on the use of generative AI on March 20, 2024. In this paper, we analyze the guidelines issued by Japanese universities and summarize the issues involved in using generative AI in research fields. We then draw some implications for the use of generative AI in research fields in Japan.},
