Previously, Pseudo-Haptics has been used to evoke sensations by deforming objects, but we focused on the phenomenon of fingertip deformation when a person touches an object with their fingertips. In this study, we examine Pseudo-Haptics from the perspective of changes in the fingertip shape of a virtual hand. In Experiment 1, we investigated how changes in the fingertip shape of a virtual hand affect the user's sense of body ownership to determine the amount of change. The results of the experiment determined that the maximum change in fingertip width should be set to 2.25 times its original width that could maintain a high level of body ownership. In Experiment 2, participants performed a task of touching virtual objects in a VR space, and their perception of the stiffness of the virtual objects was evaluated. The results confirmed that when the deformation of the virtual hand's fingertip shape is small, the object is perceived as hard, while when the deformation is large, it is perceived as soft.
